We expect between 20–30 community volunteers and approximately 100 – 130 participants of all ages, from the Knife River area and surrounding communities for this fun and healthy event.

The Race begins at the Rec Center, where racers walk or run down the sometimes muddy river trail, past the wayside rest, then take a hilly course around the streets of Knife River. At the half-way mark, they round a corner and take the same route back to complete the race. Races for kids who aren’t ready for main course have also been added! Every child who participates receives a ribbon and is eligible for prize drawings.

We invite you to be a part of our community event by:
participating in the race, walk or kids’ event;
volunteering to help along the trail or at the start;
or just cheering on the participants as they race through the village!

We look to business and community sponsors to help defray costs for the race or to donate items for our drawings. If you are a business owner, or know anyone who may be interested in helping fund our event or donate prizes, please contact the Solstice Coordinator at the above number.
